Installing apps from the Company Portal app managed via Microsoft Intune (Windows 8)

When we manage your devices using Microsoft Intune, we can provide company-specific apps, available for you to install on your computer. The following process makes the following assumptions about your environment:

  • You are running Windows 8.1
  • Your environment is managed via Windows Intune
  • We have published the app for you
  • The app is a Windows Store app

NOTE: Microsoft Intune can provide apps for Windows 7 as well. The process of installing Windows 7 apps is a little different as the apps are available via a web page rather than the Windows 8 Company Portal app.

Follow these directions to discover what apps are available to you in your company portal:

Open the company portal

From the desktop

  1. Right-click on the Microsoft Intune icon in your desktop's taskbar
  2. Choose Company Portal

From the Start screen

  1. Type Company Portal
  2. Select the app from the search results

Sign in to the company portal

If prompted, sign in using your Office 365 credentials

Find your app

The portal screen will show recently added apps, as well as give you the ability to browse by category. It will also show your devices (not in the screenshot)

Select the App to install

In the app above, the link takes you to the Windows Store location for app install
